Recommendation
Staff recommends the Mayor and Council read, approve and present the proclamation to Mr. Howard Lichtman, Program Coordinator of the Rockville Science Center.

Discussion
This is the 33rd year, Rockville Science Day event recognized every year by the Mayor and Council. This year's event will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from Noon to 5 p.m. at the Rockville campus of Montgomery College and free to the public. The 2024 event was attended by over 3500 visitors and featured approximately 100 exhibitors. Organizers anticipate an even bigger and better even this year!
Opening Ceremonies are in front of the Physical Education Building at 1:00 P.M.
The Rockville Science Center is an interactive space for ALL AGES to come and experience hands-on learning and connect with the scientific community. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are sustained by grants from the City of Rockville and other local entities, sponsorships from area scientific organizations and donations from our visitors.
Some of the programs offered include:

• Rocketry, robotics, and drone teams
• FIRST LEGO League teams

Rockville Science Day combines entertainment and education where people of all ages can find interesting exhibits on a number of science related topics. This year’s topics include electric vehicle demos, quadcopters, archaeology mini-digs, 3D printing. This is an annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) festival featuring a variety of science and technology-related exhibits, activities, games, and demos.
