Recommendation

Staff recommends the Mayor and Council adopt Ordinance No. 08-26 (Corrected).

Discussion

On September 14, 2026, the Mayor and Council held a public hearing and took action on Sectional Map Amendment application MAP2026-127. The purpose of this sectional map amendment is to rezone the property at 24 Martins Lane from the R-60 zone to R-60 (HD), which would apply the historic district overlay to the property. On September 14, the Councilmember Shaw introduced the ordinance; a motion was made to waive the layover period, and the body unanimously voted to adopt the ordinance.

Upon review following the meeting, it was determined that the associated ordinance inadvertently referred to the sectional map amendment as application MAP2027-127 when the actual application is MAP2026-127. The public hearing advertisement, staff report and staff presentation all referred to the case by its proper number, however the ordinance itself used the incorrect application reference. As a result, staff are requesting the adoption of Ordinance No. 08-26 (Corrected) to ensure that the official record reflects the accurate map amendment number.
