Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Mayor and Council authorize the City Manager to execute Modification Number 1 (Attachment 1) between the City of Rockville and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to provide a no cost extension to the end date of the Agreement executed on June 9, 2023, for Grant N. 14-23-2088 TRF 15.
Discussion
On December January 9, 2023, the Mayor and Council authorized the City Manager to sign an Agreement with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to accept grant funding in the amount of $2,000,000 for the Croydon Creek/Calvin Park Tributary Stream Restoration Project SB16. This Agreement was executed on June 9, 2023 with an expiration date of December 31, 2025 and is included as Attachment 2.
City of Rockville staff requested an extension to the end date of this Agreement due to delays associated with completing the design and acquiring federal permits. Modification Number 1 (Attachment 1) extends the end date to December 31, 2026.

The Mayor and Council authorized the City Manager to sign the Grant Agreement on January 9, 2023.

If approved by the Mayor and Council, the City Manager will execute the attached Modification Number 1 Agreement.
