Recommendation
Staff recommends the Mayor and Council read, approve, and present the proclamation to Mr. Ulisses Santamaria, Trustee President of the Rockville Science Center.

Discussion
This is the 35th year Rockville Science Day event recognized every year by the Mayor and Council. This year's event will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from Noon to 5 p.m. at the Rockville campus of Montgomery College and is free to the public. The 2025 event drew over 3,500 visitors and featured approximately 100 exhibitors. Organizers anticipate an even bigger and better event this year!
Opening Ceremonies are at 1:00 P.M. in front of the Physical Education Building.
The Rockville Science Center is an interactive space for ALL AGES to come and experience hands-on learning and connect with the scientific community. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are sustained by grants from the City of Rockville and other local entities, sponsorships from area scientific organizations, and donations from our visitors.

Rockville Science Day combines entertainment and education, where people of all ages can find interesting exhibits on several science-related topics. This year’s topics include electric vehicle demos, quadcopters, archaeology mini-digs, and 3D printing. This is an annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) festival featuring a variety of science and technology-related exhibits, activities, games, and demos.
